CHIEF INSTRUCTOR: SENSEI FRANK T PERRY

Frank Perry is one of the leading exponents of martial arts in this country and was trained from the age of five by the late Sensei Kaoru Mishiku, a master of traditional Japanese Instruction who pioneered martial arts teaching in Britain. He has also studied abroad under leading Japanese instructors of world champion ranking. He holds a sixth Dan in Karate and also Dan rankings in Judo, Kobi Jutsu, Ju Jutsu and Ken-jutsu. His school at Richmond featured in Ice Break, the first ever karate film to be distributed throughout Europe.

SEIKI-JUKU KARATE BUSEN

Karate has gone a long way since it was first introduced into Europe after the last war. As boxing has fallen into disfavour, more and more schools are taking it up as part of their regular sports training. (BUSEN already supplies instructors for several Public Schools).

What is it about Karate that accounts for its growing popularity? Firstly, its effectiveness as a means of self defence; the student learns something of practical use from the very first lesson.

Secondly, its highly sophisticated training methods perfected over the centuries and developed in our school In accordance with modern physical education principles. These training methods teach suppleness, balance and provide first class aerobic conditioning that gets you fit and keeps you fit.

WHO CAN LEARN KARATE?

Anyone in good health; there are no age limits. Classes are geared to all levels of ability. You won't be embarrassed by finding yourself surrounded by budding Bruce Lees!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BE PROFICIENT?

Gradings are held every three months to test students progress. You can continue to whatever level of proficiency you require.

WHAT EQUIPMENT IS NEEDED?

None at all. With Karate you can continue to practice what you've learned at home. The only equipment you need is your own body! And, there's no need to buy a special suit In the early stages when you're finding your way about.
